Profile
Kiculo is a unique line of fashionable pandan-based bags, a collection of vibrant products made of a versatile indigenous material matched with rich fabric and carefully hand-crafted with accents of soft leather, colorful beads, striking shells and polished wood.
Kiculo is latejami (a constructed language) for bright, brilliant, vivid & dazzling. It is also coined from Kitkat Cusi Lobaton, the designer and entrepreneur, lover and mother of Kiculo, an enterprise the beginning of which is bound to her own story… having worked as a Visual Merchandiser for 7 years with different top retail companies in the Philippines, she finally decided to head home and bring what she knows to people like those in her husband’s farm where the gratifying acts of sharing also keep her close to her growing family.
Kitkat started designing bags together with her mom, Marichu Cusi, in 2003. Both women share a passion for creation. They have keen eyes for detail and a flare for fashion, be it in clothing or accessories. They turn up pieces that range from contemporary cutting-edge style to polished perfection… perfect complements to any outfit. They had their first venture in Manila bazaars way back in 2003 and the designing bug has not left since then. In year 2004, Kiculo joined the Association of Negros Producers. Exposures include the Trade fair: Hecho Derecho at Greenbelt 1 in 2004, Negros! Negros! At Gateway in 2005 and at Rockwell in 2006. Seminars include the Supply Chain Management cum Costing and Pricing, Basics of Exporting and Trends.
Kiculo is also proud to be the 2005 winner of Bulawan Competition fashion accessories category. Its products are displayed at the ANP Showroom, Rustans, and in Christmas Bazaars in Manila.
