Six years ago, they started producing the turmeric teas. Their members have abundant turmeric and ginger plants growing in their area and their problem is how to market these products. The Multi-Sectoral Alliance for Development-Negros (MUAD-Negros), a non-government organization, who assisted them and also their farmer-members encouraged them to produce turmeric teas as a healthy drink. The raw materials are abundant and they buy their raw materials directly to their member-farmers to help them augment their income. The farmer-members are now using their vacant land planting turmeric, ginger and lemongrass to sustain our production.They were trained on how to process turmeric teas. Their first produced is the 2-1 tea (turmeric and brown sugar),as it goes well in the market, they expand their production.
